AUTOart Aston Martin DB5 Goldfinger 1:18 Scale

German-based model car maker AUTOart has released the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 Model Car - Goldfinger Edition ref 70296.

This is a highly detailed 1:18 diecast composite model of the most famous car in the world.

The model has the following gadgets and features:

• opening doors, bonnet and boot
• rotating number plate at front and rear
• hidden machine guns behind the front indicator lights
• removable passenger ejector seat
• removable roof panel
• radar tracker
• openable compartment between the front seats
• hidden telephone in the driver’s door
• extendable tyre-shredding spinners on rear wheels
• rear blinkers open to reveal oil spray tubes
• bulletproof shield
• the boot also houses the reservoir for the rear oil spray device and the rear indicator lights folding down to reveal the outlet

The details of the interior and exterior are beautiful, with an impressively accurate dashboard, steering wheel and cloth lining. The chrome strips and wheels are very fine, as well as the 'Superleggera' text on the bonnet and the Aston Martin emblems.

New vs old AUTOart DB5

AUTOart made a Goldfinger DB5 several years ago but this new 2024 model has an improved design and better working gadgets. The tyre slashers and bumpers extend more and more details are added in the trunk, including the oil slick gadgets.

The passenger seat of the new model can be taken out, and is held in place with magnets, but it still doesn't 'eject'.

Another thing to note is that the roof sits on top without any magnets or 'clicking' system, so it will fall out when you old the car upside down (this is the same in some other models including the NTTD DB5 by Autoworld).
