Well here I am back as promised to report on our stay at the One&Only Ocean Club... Paradise Island... Bahamas... what a fantastic time we had... i'm not short of a bob or two but let me tell you this place is EXPENSIVE!!!

We arrived and had a complementary drink in "The Library" a room just off the main reception where Bond played Dimitrious on his first night at the Club... I leaned up against the bar and ordered a "large Mount Gay with Soda please" even though I don't like the drink... I spent quite a bit of time in that room soaking up the atmosphere.... I walking through the reception with my Persols on and the door which is the security room in fact leads to a storage area to the rear of the bar he leans at to order his large Mount Gay.... I've got some great photos and will try to post them soon... my beautiful girlfriend Lucy and I spent every day in the pool which Bond walks up the stairs away from at night when first going to meet Demetrious to beat him at cards... We had a sneaky peak at his Ocean view Villa (beautiful) but it looked as though I'd have had to extend my mortgage to stay there.... a few basic pointers for you if you are thinking of staying there:

Taxi is more than $30 from the airport... it says $25 on their website not accounting for the fact that the local taxi drivers must be aware that you are loaded if you stay there

Basic garden view room is £450 GBP per night including "small print extras" such as local taxes and standard room maid gratuity...

Basic drinks: glass of wine £15... Beer £8... spirits £15... glass of champagne £20

Dinner for two and nice bootle of wine/champagne... no change from £250 no matter which way you carve it up...

We were there for 5 days 4 nights and if you include the flight the total cost was £6000 GBP.... but do you know what... do it before you die and live like Bond.... we will be going back for our honeymoon...
