Intermarine Cigarette 37
In the 1977 movie The Spy Who Loved Me, Naomi (Caroline Munro) and two henchmen collect James Bond (Roger Moore) and Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) at the Hotel Cala di Volpe in an Intermarine Cigarette 37 power boat.
When Bond sees the boat and Naomi, he says to Amasova "What a handsome craft. Such lovely lines."
The boat takes them straight to the 'Atlantis' base of Karl Stromberg (Curd Jürgens), who has granted Bond - posing as marine biologist Robert Sterling - a visit to his ocean home.
The Intermarine Cigarette 37 boat is black and white, with the logo of Stromberg's company painted on the side. The interior appears to be all white leather. Registration number on the side is "SP 0021 D".
What is claimed to be (one of the) original boat(s) from the film was for sale and mentioned in this YBW forum thread and on the website BoatShed.com. The boat seems to be in Shepperton, UK, but it's unclear if this is the original boat. It was partly restored. The Stromberg on the side of the hull looks slightly smaller or different location than the film version, so seems to be added later. If anyone has more information on the original screen used Intermarine Cigarette 37 speedboat, please contact me here.
About Intermarine
The Italian company was founded in 1970 and focused on building watercraft with fibre-reinforced plastic hulls. Since the company was bought by Italian shipyard Rodriquez Cantieri Navali, they also produce boats made from steel and aluminium.
