Orlebar Brown For Your Eyes Only Day Shorts
In a publicity / behind-the-scenes photo of For Your Eyes Only (1981), Roger Moore as James Bond wears a pair of shorts with a blue v-neck t-shirt.
The photo shows Melina (Carole Bouquet) in her yellow suit that she wears in the Neptune submarine diving scene. Roger Moore is wearing a blue shirt that he wears under the yellow suit and which can be seen after Kristatos ties Melina and him together after he captures them on his yacht. In that scene, Bond wears a pair of long trousers, not shorts. It's likely that Roger Moore wore the shorts under his yellow diving suit, which would make sense as long trousers would have been quite warm under the suit. In the publicity photo he also wears his Seiko Gold Tuna diver's watch which is seen in the Neptune submarine, but not anymore when he is tied to Melina and thrown in the water by Kristatos. For the scene where Bond and Melina are dragged behind the yacht by Kristatos, Moore was is wearing long trousers, possibly because Roger Moore's James Bond always dresses up and never wears shorts (in contrast to Sean Connery's Bond who wears lots of shorts, mostly in Thunderball).
As part of their 007 Collection, Orlebar Brown offers a pair of ivory shorts, inspired by the style from the photo, but with a modern twist. These Orlebar Brown For Your Eyes Day Shorts are made of a cotton (51%) and linen (49%) blend fabric. These are more like regular shorts than swim shorts. Nice detail is the button down belt loops.
