About Martin Campbell
Director Martin Campbell revived the Bond franchise in 2006 with Casino Royale, a gritty, brutal spy thriller that is still considered by most fans as one of the best Bond films. Known for his successful and acclaimed action films, including the 1995 Bond film GoldenEye, Campbell gave the franchise a much-needed grounding in realism, making Casino Royale hit hard both in its violence and emotionality. Filled with muscular set pieces and stellar supporting performances from Mads Mikkelsen and Eva Green, this film completely reshaped the beloved franchise and influenced countless subsequent films, including its direct sequels.
Martin Campbell is also known for The Mask Of Zorro, The Foreigner and Edge Of Darkness, among many others. Campbell won a BAFTA for his TV series, Edge Of Darkness, and was nominated for another for Casino Royale.
