007 Store Exclusive: No Time To Die Safin Mask Magnet and Keyring

The official 007Store is launching an exclusive Safin Mask Magnet and Safin Mask Keyring in advance of the release of No Time To Die.

Both pieces are a limited availability first production run and launch online on the 9th of September on the 007Store.com website.

The Safin Mask Keyring will be available for £15.99.

The keyring features a high quality enamelled metal replica of the broken Noh mask worn by Safin in the film, complete with accurate prop detailing from the Bond Archive. The keychain has a polished link with engraved 007 logo on the clasp and is presented in a No Time To Die black gift box.

The Safin Mask Magnet will be available for £16.99.

The enamelled metal magnet is a replica of Safin's broken mask, complete with cracks and splintered wood detailing. The design has a polished rear dot magnet with an engraved 007 logo and is also presented in a No Time To Die black gift box.

Suttirat Larlarb, No Time To Die Costume Designer, tells us about the inspiration and making process of the movie mask... “We started from an initial piece of visual reference of a Japanese Noh mask because of its pure, expressionless, clean look. The first steps initiated were several days of clay sculpting to finesse the ‘expression’ of expressionlessness… which was a lot more difficult than that sounds. We wanted to remove anything that felt like an expressive human detail while remaining true to a human face - so the mask could reside somewhere between inhuman, artificial and a serene stare. We worked on minimising as many facial planes as possible, any spaces, sockets, dips where shadows could inadvertently cue an expression or depth - but I also wanted there to be enough dimension and reality so that it didn’t look flat. After several days of sculpting, and then several more sessions of me working with our sculptor, the mask was 3D-scanned into a digital model for the next stage of the design process. One of the 3D artists added the wood grain surface texture that is readable under the coats of paint on the surface of the mask - just as a real Noh mask would have."

It was not announced yet if or when a full-size mask will be available, but it's likely that an exclusive full-size Safin mask will be offered just like James Bond's SPECTRE mask.
