Only 30 spots will be available on this tour for $14.995 each (register at tradecraftlondon.com), giving you an unforgettable three-day weekend of expert lectures and private tours to explore the past, present and future of spycraft and counter-espionage. And a Vesper Martini of course.
You and just 29 others will participate in exclusive introductions, private meetings, fascinating lectures of nine of the world’s brightest from the fields of intelligence, government, hacking, and special operations, and behind-the-scenes tours at ten of London’s most iconoclastic venues.
The flight is not included, but once you arrive in London, Tradecraft manages all the logistics including hotel, meals, and ground transportation.
Itinerary
On 19 May 2016 you will check into the 5-star Dukes Hotel in Mayfair.
Dukes Hotel
This luxury boutique hotel is internationally renowned for its famous cocktail bar, most famously frequented by James Bond author Ian Fleming, it is said to be the inspiration for the classic line ‘shaken, not stirred’.
Dukes bar
Enjoy pre-dinner cocktail hour with Dukes’ legendary mixologist, maybe you can try the Dukes Floris 89 Martini or a classic Vesper.
In the evening you will attend a welcome dinner and briefing at Ian Fleming’s favorite restaurant Scott’s, where he brought two captured German U-boat officers for lunch in hopes of learning how they evaded the mines in the Skagerrak.
Your briefing for this three-day Tradecraft experience will be given by Roderick Jones, formerly of Special Branch and now CEO of Concentric Advisors.
Churchill War Rooms entrance
In the morning of Friday 20 May, you embark on a private tour of the Churchill War Rooms at the Imperial War Museum, then meet in a recreated command bunker for lunch with the former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff.
After lunch, professional soldier and renowned military strategist, Dave Kilcullen will teach you how to run a Surveillance Detection Route (SDR) in the heart of London, the world's most surveilled city.
In the afternoon you will meet one of the world’s most prolific and infamous blackhat hackers, who will teach you how to protect your digital identity and avoid being tricked through social engineering techniques.
After you’ve had a few hours to relax and freshen up, dress up for a dinner and drinks at members-only nightclub Annabel’s at Berkeley Square. There you will also learn how spies catch spies from the CIA’s former Deputy Director of the National Clandestine Service for Counterintelligence Mark Kelton.
While you're drinking, having dinner and dancing, you may experience first-hand what it's like to be recruited by a foreign spy - without you knowing that it's happening, of course.
MI6 / SIS headquarters, seen from Vauxhall Bridge
On Saturday you will travel up the River Thames by high speed Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIB), past the iconic MI6 building, to the Royal Naval College in Greenwich. There you’ll meet and have an intimate conversation with Cofer Black, the former head of the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center.
After returning to central London and enjoying a special lunch, meet your Q for the day, Chief Dale "Woody" Wooden, recently retired from U.S. Naval Special Forces, who will demonstrate how a hunter can identify and track you with shocking accuracy through your mobile phone’s electronic signature, using off-the-shelf, home-build devices.
You might know the spy tricks now, but now you need the suit, ... a bespoke suit to be exact. You will take a special visit to Savile Row, where you can have a private appointment to be measured for your own bespoke suit by tailor Timothy Everest, who made the suits for M (Ralph Fiennes) in SkyFall and SPECTRE. His studio also designed the suits for Mission Impossible, Kingsman and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. films.
In the evening, return to Dukes and meet Nada Bakos, a former CIA Chief Targeting Officer. She was part of the team hunting Osama bin Laden and his second-in-command, Abu Musab al- Zarqawi.
Enjoy a private dinner and stories with celebrity chef Sophie Mitchell; Ian Fleming was the assistant to her grandfather, an Admiral in the Royal Navy. Marina Litvinenko will join and share her experience of defecting from Russia with her FSB officer husband Alexander, only to have him assassinated in London by Russian agents.
To end the day, go to the casino, where mystery and intrigue combine with the excitement of gambling. You’ll get to enjoy a VIP treatment at the opulent Clerment Club in Mayfair.
Aston Martin DB10
On Sunday 22 May, you will receive a private showing of the Aston Martin DB10 (the car especially made for James Bond in SPECTRE) at the brand new Aston Martin Atelier, and have a discussion about its design with Head Designer and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman.
Lunch with a view at Gherkin
Enjoy lunch and a spectacular view of London from the top floor, private restaurant of the iconic Gherkin building. Engage in a debriefing panel discussion with Cofer Black, Dave Kilcullen, Mark Kelton and our other speakers. Learn practical tactics and strategies you can deploy to better protect yourself in the future.
At the end of this Tradecraft experience, you will “Drink Like Bond” with super sommelier, Tom Harrow, at the new private wine club, 67 Pall Mall.
Drink like Bond at 67 Pall Mall
Inside a former bank vault / now secret wine cellar. Harrow will guide a bibulous journey through the iconic spy’s top-end drink cabinet, featuring his preferred drinks from both literature and film.
Naturally you will start with a Vesper Martini, then move through various Champagnes (Comtes de Champagne, Taittinger, Dom Perignon, Bollinger Grande Annee), via Sake (served at the correct temperature of course, in You Only Live Twice), then on to classic clarets: Château Mouton Rothschild, Château Lafite and Château Angélus.
Registration for this experience is now open with only 30 spots available. Sign up now for $14.995 at tradecraftlondon.com.
