Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin N2
In the 2015 film SPECTRE, the main villain Franz Oberhauser (Blofeld, played by Christoph Waltz) uses a Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin N2 helicopter to watch the MI6 building collapse and then fly away. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Dr Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) chase the helicopter in a speedboat on the Thames and Bond is able to shoot down the helicopter, causing it to crash on Westminster Bridge.
The helicopter used in the filming is a Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin N2 (also formerly known as a Aérospatiale SA 365 Dauphin 2) from 1991. The helicopter is registered in the UK with registration number G-LCPL and that number is visble in the film.
Scenes using the helicopter were filmed in central London in May 2015, read the report and see images and videos in this article. The helicopter was hovering above the River Thames, across from the SIS building, and flew several times from the Vauxhall Bridge to Westminster Bridge.
Unused scenes were filmed with Christoph Waltz being driven to the helicopter in a Rolls-Royce Phantom.
The same helicopter was also used by Jaguar in 2014 for a commercial "Rendezvous" as part of the "Villains Campaign" (#ItsGoodToBeBad), featuring actors Mark Strong, Sir Ben Kingsley and Tom Hiddleston who is being flown in the helicopter. Funny enough the commercial focuses on movie villains, and a shot appears in the commercial of the helicopter flying over the Thames, very similar to the shots in the the movie SPECTRE. Another curious Bond link is that Tom Hiddleston has often been rumoured to be a candidate to play the next James Bond.
The World Is Not Enough
It's not the first time this model helicopter was seen in a Bond film. In the 1999 movie The World Is Not Enough James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) and Elektra King (Sophie Marceau) jump out of an Aérospatiale SA 365 Dauphin 2 on their skis to "check the survey lines".
