The Atlantic Hotel was featured in the 1997 Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies. A few scenes were shot here, but one of the most memorable is the stunt scene in which Pierce Brosnan - or rather his stunt double - climbs from the Atlantic Suite to the globe on the roof of the hotel after Bond killed Dr. Kaufman. Present were, besides Pierce Brosnan, the German actor Götz Otto, the director Roger Spottiswoode and a crew of 150.

The room where James Bond drinks his Smirnoff vodka, seduces Carver's wife, Paris and kills Dr. Kaufman doesn't actually exist. Those scenes were filmed at Stoke Poges Park Club in England, the place where the famous golf match between Bond and Goldfinger was filmed.

Situated right on the shoreline of the Lake Alster, Hotel Atlantic is one of Hamburg's finest hotels.
