SCOTT goggles
James Bond (Roger Moore) wears a pair of yellow SCOTT goggles in the movie The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).
In the pre-title sequence of the film, 007 is alerted on his Seiko Quartz LC watch that he has to report for duty. He puts on a bright yellow and red ski outfit and leaves his girl behind in the ski lodge, only to find himself chased by a group of henchman. He famously escapes by jumping off a mountain, opening a Union Jack parachute.
The yellow suit is once again made by Bogner (as most of the Roger Moore era ski suits), but the yellow goggles are made by SCOTT, an American producer of goggles for ski and motorcycles.
The huge SCOTT logo on the head band of the goggles was made invisible by turning the band inside out (see pictures on the left).
These exact goggles are currently hard to find but you can check eBay for vintage and recent SCOTT goggles.
About SCOTT
American company SCOTT was founded in 1958 by Ed Scott, an engineer and ski racer living in Sun Valley, Idaho. The company first focused on ski gear, but in 1970, SCOTT entered the motocross goggle market. Currently the company offers bicycle, wintersports, motorsport and running equipment.
Other ski eyewear in Bond films
Other ski eyewear worn by Bond are Pierre Cardin ski goggles worn in For Your Eyes Only, white Willy Bogner 7003 Eschenbach glasses worn in A View To A Kill, and Calvin Klein glasses in The World Is Not Enough.
Thanks to Shaun for the ID and the photos of the goggles.
