No Time To Die will be postponed until November 2020

04 March, 2020

MGM, Universal and Bond producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, announced today that after careful consideration and thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace, the release of No Time To Die will be postponed until November 2020.

No Time To Die postponed

The film will be released in the UK on November 12, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the US launch on November 25, 2020.

The film was originally scheduled for a April 2 release in the UK and April 10 in the USA, with a world premiere on March 31st. Although this is not the first postponement. After there were creative differences with director Danny Boyle, the movie got a new director (Cary Fukunaga), and was postponed from November 2019 until the April 2020 dates.

Comments

I'm going to just come out and say it I am not Ok with yet another delay for any reason. This Bond feels like it has more at stake than any other. I want to find out whether Barbara Broccoli is going to preserve the James Bond franchise or sacrifice him on the altar of Social Justice. Bond is my favorite franchise and the only one yet to cave in to SJW pandering as the trailers and rumors about Phoebe Waller and Female 007 suggest. I want to find out what the future of my favorite action hero looks like and I am not happy at all to wait an excessive 7 month delay to find out. Maybe It wouldn't have been so upsetting if the film had not already taken forever in preproduction and the been delayed twice already. It just feels very upsetting as a lifetime fan to be repeatedly told to wait.
double damn
The worst part about this terrible news is the big picture no one seems to be bringing up. This unnecessary delay of No Time to Die will absolutely delay the next 007 release. Fans familiar with the process will realize that typically Broccoli waits anywhere from 6 months to a year after a Bond release to start working on the next one. Add the fact that they are recasting and possibly rebooting Bond again and we are likely looking at upwards of 5 years to wait AFTER No Time to Die releases all the way in November.
