Altenmünster Brauer Bier
In the movie Octopussy (1983), Roger Moore as James Bond is offered a beer while being a passenger in a Volkswagen Beetle. The beer is Altenmünster beer, from the Allgäuer Brauhaus brewery in the region of Bavaria, Germany.
Bond is trying to get to Octopussy's flying circus to stop the bomb from exploding, and has to hitchhike. He gets a ride from a friendly German couple who offer him a sausage and a beer bottle ("Ein Bier?"), both of which Bond refuses, as he nervously checks his Seiko G757 Sports 100 wristwatch.
The bottle has a typical design with a large embossed Altenmünster logo and the flip top. Altenmünster was one of the first brands which sold flip-top bottles in Germany. The bottle is still available with this design.
Unfortunately there is not a paper top label on the bottle in the film, so we can't see which variation of Altenmünster beer this is, but the beer in the film is most likely one of the two classics Altenmünster Urig Würzig or Altenmünster Hopfig Herb.
In the novel Goldfinger and the short story The Living Daylights. Bond actually drinks another Bavarian beer, Löwenbräu.
