Casino Royale Returns to Cinemas in 4K for 20th Anniversary

Daniel Craig’s first James Bond film, Casino Royale, is returning to cinemas this October to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond in cinemas from 2 October 2026, ahead of James Bond Day on 5 October, for the 20th anniversary of his 007 debut, Casino Royale.

The film will be presented on a brand-new 4K DCP, giving Bond fans another opportunity to see one of the most popular films of the Daniel Craig era on the big screen. The anniversary release is supported by new artwork, revealed across the official 007 social media channels, as well as a new cinema trailer and a 60-second social version of the trailer.

Released in November 2006, Casino Royale introduced Daniel Craig as James Bond and effectively started a new chapter for the film series. Directed by Martin Campbell, who had previously introduced Pierce Brosnan as Bond in GoldenEye, the film follows Bond shortly after earning his 00 status. His investigation ultimately takes him to Montenegro, where he faces terrorist financier Le Chiffre in a high-stakes poker game at Casino Royale.

Craig stars alongside Eva Green as Vesper Lynd, Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre, Judi Dench as M and Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter. The story is based on Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel, Casino Royale, originally published in 1953.

The re-release is being handled in the UK by Park Circus.

The 20th anniversary screenings begin from 2 October 2026 at cinemas including Vue. Individual cinema dates may vary by market.
