New Orlebar Brown James Bond 007 Collection reinvents the classic Bond outfits
Starting today, the latest Orlebar Brown 007 collection is available online and it includes shirts, shorts and other classic pieces seen in early James Bond films. From swimming trunks, polo shirts and a toweling robe worn by Sean Connery, to a safari jacket worn by Roger Moore as James Bond. This is a unique official collaboration between 007 and a clothing brand to recreate a wide variety of iconic Bond pieces for a modern audience.
The new Orlebar Brown James Bond 007 Collection follows last year's collection, which featured 4 poster print swim shorts.
The pieces of the new 007 Collection are not exact replicas of the original Bond pieces, but rather a new interpretation by Orlebar Brown, with a more modern fit and details like smaller collars or longer shorts.
As Orlebar Brown specialises in beachwear and swim shorts for exotic swimming pools or beaches, the brand is a perfect match with many of the Bond garments from classic beach and pool scenes in the films.
Watch the short video below to see the original film scenes on which the products are based:
A great example is this first piece, the blue swim shorts pictured here are inspired by the belted Jantzen swim shorts worn by James Bond in Thunderball. Bond wears them a lot in The Bahamas when diving and meeting Domino.

Even though the Orlebar Brown shorts have belt loops like the original, there is not a real belt attached to the shorts. Instead the waist band has a dark blue colour.
Orlebar Brown also created the pink pair of shorts, similar to the pink Jantzen shorts worn by Sean Connery in Thunderball.
The pink linen capri collar shirt worn by Connery in Thunderball is also recreated with the modern audience in mind (i.e. smaller collar), but otherwise pretty truthful to the original. Definitely great to combine with pink or blue shorts from the same collection.

Complete the Thunderball look with these Espadrilles beach shoes, similar to the pair worn by Sean Connery in Thunderball when he meets Domino (worn with the blue shorts and pink shirt).
Orlebar's popular toweling fabric is used for some iconic shirts, like the light blue polo shirt famously worn by Sean Connery in Dr No, in the famous beach scene when he meets Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress).

A thicker toweling fabric in blue is used for a robe, similar to the robe worn by Sean Connery in Dr No, after he and Ursula Andress are captured by Dr. No and led to their rooms.

A very nice detail is the label inside the robe, noting "The property of Dr. Julius No Crab Key".
The fabric is also perfect for a highlight in the collection: the Goldfinger Toweling All-in-one, worn by Connery as James Bond at the pool in the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami.
In the film, Bond first only wears blue swim shorts, but when Felix Leiter arrives, Bond puts on this all-in-one over it.

Update: this Goldfinger piece sold out already on pre-sale but will be available again soon.
Another toweling fabric item in the 007 Collection is the safari shirt worn by Connery in Diamonds Are Forever - recreated by Orlebar Brown in a sand colour toweling fabric, including chest pockets and but with a slightly smaller collar than the original 70s style collar seen in the film.

Toweling fabric is also used, in dark blue, for a training jacket similar to the one worn by Roger Moore in A View To A Kill, when Bond enters the Zorin factory.

Orlebar Brown recreates the white pleated shirt as worn by Bond (George Lazenby) in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, in the pre-titles sequence when he saves Contessa (Diana Rigg) from drowning herself. The shirt, originally a dress shirt worn with a tuxedo by Bond, has been redesigned so it is now a great linen shirt for the pool or beach. This is OB founder Adam Brown's favourite item from the collection.

OB recreated a long sleeve polo shirt from Thunderball (worn while sneaking around at Shrublands), which is similar to a Goldfinger black polo shirt worn by Bond when entering and being captured in Goldfinger's Swiss factory. (In the film Connery wears a Black V-Neck Sweater over a black long or short sleeve polo shirt).
Orlebar Brown made it into a hemmed knit long sleeve polo shirt from merino wool in ink blue (very dark blue).

The tag can't be seen but almost all pieces of the 007 Collection have a 007 tag on the side, pictured below is the tag on the long sleeve polo.
Pieces of the 007 Collection come with a tag on the side, with 007 gun logo on one side and Orlebar Brown logo on the other side, here seen on the ink blue long sleve polo shirt.

The green Safari shirt worn by Roger Moore in The Man With The Golden Gun is another highlight and one of the most expensive pieces of the Orlebar Brown 007 Collection. This shirt features the original 4 pockets on the front and capri collar.

One fun item added to the collection is a new pair of photoprint Bulldog shorts, with the image of the Moonraker film poster.
Update June 2019:
As part of the James Bond 007 Collection, Orlebar Brown re-released the Setter shorts that were worn in SkyFall.
The shorts are available on the Orlebar Brown website for £195 / €245 / $295.
The shorts have the same color and same details as the shorts worn by Daniel Craig as James Bond in SkyFall, when he is swimming in the pool of his hotel in Shanghai.
The main difference is that now you get the "Orlebar Brown 007" tag on the inside, the same label as seen on other items in the Orlebar Brown James Bond 007 Collection.
The SkyFall Setter shorts are now available on the Orlebar Brown website. If a size is sold out there, you could also try MrPorter.com.
