Sean Connery's BMW 635CSi for sale

A 1986 BMW 635CSi once owned by Sean Connery is offered for sale online. Bidding ends on January 15th 2021.

The car, in Alpine white with Pacific blue leather upholstery, was owned by Connery from 1990-1998 when he lived in Marbella, Spain. As we reported in this article about Sean Connery, the BMW was auctioned in 2008 on eBay for £7,212.

The E24 BMW 6-series was first introduced back in 1976 and remained in production until 1989.

This particular car is from 1986, but probably spent several years in a dealership showroom before it was purchased by Sean Connery in 1989/1990. The famous actor sold it in 1998, right before he sold his villa in Marbella. Connery and his wife faced some tax investigations at the time (read more on Wikipedia).

In the 1990s, Sean Connery lived at ‘Casa Malibu’ in Marbella, Spain, where the Iberian climate and salt-free roads no doubt did contribute towards the excellent condition of the vehicle today.

This is a highly original, authentic car and is in excellent condition. After its decade of Spanish sunshine in the careful hands of most people’s favourite 007, the car was in dry storage in the UK from 1998 to 2007, and then in dry storage again, this time in Luxembourg, from 2008 to 2019. It made a brief appearance in 2016 in order to attend a BMW 100 Years event in Belgium.

The vendor lives in Luxembourg and now offers the car online via The Market (no reserve!) where the highest bid at the moment (11 January 2021) is £17,250.  The car is currently at The Market HQ near Abingdon, UK.

The Market estimates the value in the range of £30,000 - £60,000.

BMW of course got a big connection with James Bond when Pierce Brosnan as James Bond drove a BMW Z3 in GoldenEye (1995), a BMW 750iL in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) and a BMW Z8 in The World Is Not Enough (1999).
