In the movie Never Say Never Again (1983), James Bond  (Sean Connery) drives a black Bentley to the Shrublands health clinic. The car is a 1937 Bentley 4¼ Litre Gurney Nutting 3-Position-Drophead Coupé, chassis number B129JY, registration DYM 800.

The car is only seen when Bond arrives at Shrublands. The porter remarks: "They don't make them like this anymore." and Bond replies "Right. It's still in pretty good shape.", something he also says about his own body in the next scene.

The exact same car, license plate DYM 800, was used in television series Magnum P.I. when Tom Selleck drives the car in episodes 1 and 2 ("Déjà Vu", Parts 1 and 2) of season 6, aired in September/October 1985.

During a recent restoration, the car's original dark blue colour scheme was rediscovered and changed back to this color. The car has changed owners several times and was auctioned by Bonhams on 3 September 2004 and again on 2 July 2010 where it sold £221,500 (€260,526). Read more about the history of the car on the 2010 Bonhams auction page.

Bond drives Bentley in some novels and other films as well. In the novel Casino Royale, he drives a 1930 Bentley 4.5 Litre. In the novel Thunderball he acquires a wreck of Mark II Continental Bentley, restores it and customises it, and calles it "The Locomotive". Bond also owns a 1930s Bentley in the movie From Russia With Love (1963): a 1935 Bentley 3.5 Litre Drophead Coupe Park Ward. In the recent novel Carte Blanche, author Jeffery Deaver puts Bond behind the wheel of Bentley, this time a modern Bentley Continental GT.
