Georg Jensen Cascade Tear Necklace with Satellite

M (played by Judi Dench) wears a Georg Jensen Cascade Tear Necklace with Satellite in the movie Casino Royale (2006).

M wears the necklace with her black suit in her first scene of the movie where she walks out of the Committee Room at Palace of Westminster, London (this interior scene was actually filmed at a Prague's Strahov Monastery library). She wears the same outfit, plus a large overcoat, when she comes home at her apartment and finds James Bond there. M also wears the outfit when she hears about Bond chasing a lead in Miami airport. Then she wears the necklace again at the end of the film when she is on the phone with James Bond (Daniel Craig) while he is running through Venice, discovering the true nature of Vesper Lynd (Eva Green).

The Georg Jensen necklace is make of 18 Carat white gold, and is set with four brilliant-cut diamonds, total approximately 0.40 ct diamonds.

The necklace was designed by Georg Jensen Denmark. Designer Adrian Schudel, who was part of the design team at Georg Jensen, recollects that the necklace was not specifically designed for the film or for Dench, but it was an existing model necklace of which a Limited Edition was used for the film. The Limited Edition version as seen in the film "had a small free-floating stone on the right side [the "Satellite" in the description of the necklace] and the pendant in the necklace was movable". This Limited Edition was only available as a special order, and is therefor extremely rare.

According to Scandinavian auction house Lauritz, the original retail price of the necklace in 2006 was DKK 27,500 (approx €3,700 / $4,100 / £3,300).
