Sega GoldenEye Pinball Machine
In 1996, after the release of the movie GoldenEye in 1995, Sega released the GoldenEye themed pinball machine.
The machine features beautiful artwork depicting all the major characters of the film including Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp and Izabella Scorupco as Natalya Simonova.
On the game field a rotating Satellite with a magnet is capable of catching and holding a pinball. The player can load the Satellite via a Pop-Up Ramp which rises up from the playfield. Another feature is the Ball Saver, which consists of a magnet system which catches and flings the ball away from the outhole and back into play. The game is also full of Easter Eggs. A display shows game information, movie clips and the faces and names of characters.
The original Sega sales flyer for the GoldenEye pinball machine states: "Be warned: after playing this game you may develop an uncanny desire for a Brioni tuxedo and a martini... shaken not stirred."
In total approximately 2200 GoldenEye machines were produced. These machines are sometimes offered for sale on eBay.
More detailed information about the pinball machine and a rule sheet can be found on the Internet Pinball Database.
