In the movies The World is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002) James Bond is drinking whisky at several occasions. In both films, Talisker was providing the whisky. M enjoys a glass of Talisker Whisky in both films as well.

A bottle of Talisker (like the picture on the left) can be seen in M's room in Die Another Day (at about 49m42s into the movie). Bond seems to be drinking whisky in Cuba and in the beginning of the virtual reality scene in Die Another Day, but a direct reference to Talisker can not be seen. The current Talisker bottle label is slightly different but a bottle with the label as seen in the film can still be purchased, for example on TheWhiskyExchange.com for £39.95 (approx. $64 or €50, international shipping available).

Another bottle can be seen in M's office in The World is not Enough (at about 6m02s). M pours Bond a glass, and Bond puts ice in his drink, something that is not recommended by the distiller of Talisker Whisky, Mark Lochhead*. But the whisky serves Bond to find out an attack on Sir Robert King is about to happen.

* "Ice dulls the taste of whisky as the reduction in temperature "closes" the delicate aromas. If you like your malt with ice I'd recommend trying it at least once without to see the difference. Who knows you might be converted" - Mark Lochhead, Talisker Whisky (read more on how to enjoy Talisker on the official website)

Comments

I can deffinetly see the connection between bond and talisker, mainly the fact that they're both scotish.

Is this malt available all over the world?

A bottle of Talisker can also be seen in Casino Royale. Not in the Salon Privée bar but the main bar when Craig doesn´t give a damn if the Vesper is shaken or stirred.. Can anyone else find it? :)

I found the Talisker to be a interesting change for me. However, the spicey, salty flavor was not quite my speed. I much prefer the highlands.
