Ford Mondeo 2.5 Litre ST
Usually James Bond drives an Aston Martin, but in Casino Royale he starts off with driving a Ford Mondeo in The Bahamas. Let's just say MI6 arranged this as a rental car for Bond.
The Ford Mondeo is prominently shown, as part of a sponsor deal. In the same scene we can also clearly see Persol 2244 sunglasses and a Sony K800i phone.
Because the car was required for filming early in 2006, more than a year before it became commercially available, the model for the film was constructed and shipped to the Bahamas under a veil of secrecy. And it could possible be the most exclusive Mondeo in the world as it was handbuilt at Ford of Europe's Design Studio in Cologne, Germany. The five-door Mondeo was a range-topping 2.5 Litre ST version with a snazzy one-off sports bodykit and special Tonic blue paintwork. Keyless entry and a start button and a HMI, Human Machine Interface instrument display, are new to the Mondeo and make for the better Bond gadgets. All Mondeos will get standard stability control and a capless refuelling system with inhibitor to prevent using the wrong fuel, and 'follow-me-home' lights. Options will include Adaptive Cruise Control, Interactive Vehicle Dynamics Control and Hill Launch Assist. The optional Sport Pack consists of a lowered suspension, partly leather interior, and 17- or 18-inch aluminium wheels, something Bond would probably have opted for.

When or will this model be available in the united states?
Well not disagree with the headline but MI6 probably didn't "arrange" for this rental car because MI6 didn't know he was in Nassau untill he hacked into M's account.
It's interesting to me that the 007 producers still hold ties to both Aston Martin and the Ford Motor Company even after Ford sold the Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Land Rover labels. Luckily Aston Martin went to British hands, while Jaguar and Land Rover weren't so lucky and went to the Indian company, Tata. On the British TV show, Top Gear, the Mondeo is one of three cars in the world all three hosts can agree on as a car they all like. And I must say, this Mondeo is very stylish.
