Seiko 6923-8080 Quartz

James Bond (Roger Moore) wears a Seiko 6923-8080 quartz two-tone analogue watch, model number SPD094, in A View To A Kill (1985). Interestingly enough Roger Moore ALSO wears his personal, very similar looking Rolex DateJust in some shots of the same scene.

Seiko 6923-8080 Quartz SPD094

The Seiko 6923-8080 is an analogue Quartz watch, with a steel case, a gold-tone fluted bezel, two-tone (steel/gold) President bracelet.

The two tone Seiko 6923-8080 dress watch is worn in the Château de Chantilly scenes in A View To A Kill, as confirmed by Seiko UK to Bond watch expert Dell Deaton.

The Seiko is barely seen at all, but sometimes pops out from under Bond's sleeve. The model number was discovered by Bond watch expert Dell Deaton. On his website the watch is shown with a Gold Dial, but the watch is also available with a Champagne dial.

A photo (sent to me by The Bond Archives) from a Japanese magazine shows the watch slightly more clear than in the screenshot from the film. Thanks to a high resolution version of that photo provided to me by Thunderballs.org we finally have proof that the watch with gold dial is the correct one.

The Seiko watch is also available in all gold colour (gold case and gold bracelet), but Bond definitely wears the two-tone version (steel case, gold bezel, two tone bracelet).

Currently the Seiko 6923-8080 SPD094 is hard to find, but you can sometimes find it on eBay usually between $40 - $100.

A good alternative is the more modern, but very similar Seiko SGF204, which is still widely available for example you can get it on Amazon, but this watch has a Jubilee style bracelet instead of the President style bracelet of the Bond watch.

Roger Moore as Bond wears Seiko watches in all his Bond films except his first, Live And Let Die, in which he wears the Hamilton Pulsar P2 and a Tissot PR-516 (more on this watch later).

Rolex Oyster Perpetual DateJust 16013 SS/18K

Roger Moore owned a two-tone Rolex Oyster Perpetual DateJust 16013 SS/18K with Roman Numerals and a two-tone Jubilee Bracelet at the time of filming. Perhaps by accident he wore the Rolex on set at Chantilly, which can be seen in a movie still when he checks on his dead partner Sir Godfrey Tibbett (Patrick Macnee) in Zorin's Rolls-Royce. Sir Roger Moore wore that Rolex DateJust for many years after he stopped playing Bond.

In the same film Bond also wears a Seiko H558 (Paris scenes) and Seiko 7A28 (opening sequence in the snow and submarine) watch. There seems to be an unconfirmed/identified rectangle watch in the outdoor party scene at Chateau Chantilly, also barely seen in the film, only on behind the scenes photos.
