The new Crockett & Jones Highbury 2 is inspired by the shoes worn by James Bond in Goldfinger. He wears a two-eyelet suede Derby during the famous car chase between him in his Aston Martin DB5 (its first appearance in a James Bond film) and Tilly Masterson in her 1964 convertible Ford Mustang.

Highbury 2 is a reincarnation of an original James Bond shoe from Crockett & Jones, the Highbury which is the only style to feature in the three movies SkyFall, SPECTRE and No Time To Die.

Crockett & Jones Albert Slipper Bond Coat of Arms

The second style made exclusively for this Goldfinger anniversary is a Velvet Slipper featuring the original Bond family Coat of Arms.

Thought to be named after Queen Victoria’s consort, Prince Albert, the Albert Slipper dates back to the early 1800’s. The Smoking Jacket was at the height of fashion, which resulted in the Albert becoming the footwear of choice for Victorian gentlemen hosting lavish dinner parties.

Today, the Albert has proved it can stand the test of time still paired with dinner jackets, whilst also gracing red carpet events. Made from velvet, the upper of an Albert Slipper is a whole cut vamp, to form a once-piece with tongue.

It features extravagant quilted linings that exude the feeling of luxurious comfort.

The Bond family coat of arms first appears in the film On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), the book of which was written in 1963. The coat of arms features the Bond family motto, “Orbis non su‰cit,” which translates from Latin to “The world is not enough”.

This family motto is actually traced to that of Sir Thomas Bond, a ‘potential’ ancestor of James Bond himself.
