Exclusive preview: James Bond Spectre Day Of The Dead Smoke Globe
After last year's SkyFall Storm Globe, the 007Store will release the James Bond Spectre Day Of The Dead Smoke Globe.
The Smoke Globe will launch Monday, 28 October to celebrate Day of the Dead 2024, but we can already give you a sneak preview here on Bond Lifestyle.
The James Bond Spectre Day Of The Dead Smoke Globe is inspired by the epic Mexico City parade scene.
This globe features a mini model of one of the huge skeleton puppets from the pre-title sequence of SPECTRE (2015).
SPECTRE opens with a long, continuous shot of James Bond (Daniel Craig) walking across rooftops in Mexico City's Zócalo to carry out an assassination, while a Día de Muertos parade takes place below. He weaves through the crowd, passing huge puppets, floats, dancers and festival-goers dressed in costume, chasing Lucia Sciarra to the main square. Although the day is a big part of Mexican tradition, the parade was conceived for SPECTRE. It has now become so popular that it's become an annual Mexico City event and a global destination for tourists.
The globe is made by hand with 3D modelled, hand-painted and assembled elements based on meticulous study of the original SPECTRE puppets and design material in the Bond Archive. With sepia-toned bones, a cigar and a flower-adorned top hat, the model also features poles at its wrists to replicate the parade puppet.
The inner setting is made of hand-painted resin, with a mix of distilled water and a haze of fine golden glitter and smoke inside the blown glass globe.
Each globe is carefully packed within a Spectre collectors box, featuring the original Day of the Dead festival pre-production visuals from the film's art department.
This 007Store exclusive can be pre-ordered for £99.00 at 007store.com on October 28 and will ship in early December 2024.
