Pioneer DJ DDJ-200 2-channel Smart DJ controller

In No Time To Die we get a great look into Q's house, and we have already spotted several items, including SMEG appliances, a Dell laptop and a Leica camera, see all items here.

It seems that Q likes his music and where Bond has a simple Tivoli Model One radio and Marantz stereo set in his Jamaican House, Q has a very large custom music system, with one part being a Pioneer DDJ-200 2-channel Smart DJ controller, and another being a Polyend Seq 8-Track 32-Step Sequencer.

In the book "No Time To Die - The Making Of The Film" we can see a good photo of the music device and read more details of how it came to be.

Set decorator Véronique Melery is quoted in the book: "He likes music, but rather than a piano, he has this super-contemporary electronic music device that looks like something he would use at work."

The device was actually a modular synthesizer built by associate producer (and son of Michael G Wilson) Gregg Wilson that production designer Mark Tildesley had seen him use on a flight to Canada while scouting for the Danny Boyle incarnation ad remembered months later when it came time to decorate Q's home. "Gregg is very much like Q," says Tildesley. "He's a super-bright scientist working in the arts."

In the photo in the Making Of The Film book, we can see the large modular synthesizer with lots of audio cables and the Polyend Seq 8-Track 32-Step Sequencer.

Just in front of the cables and next to the sequencer, we can spot the Pioneer DDJ-200 2-channel Smart DJ controller, which is a brand new, entry-level mixing controller for beginning DJs.

The Pioneer DDJ-200 connects to your smartphone or computer via Bluetooth and basically controls the DJ software on your phone or computer via Midi signals. Although the functionality is not as advanced as bigger Pioneer DJ controllers, it does have the basic features to mix songs, and since it's portable you can easily bring it with you to a party or even outside if you bring a speaker.

The Pioneer DDJ-200 2-channel Smart DJ controller was brand new at the time that the Q scenes were filmed in 2019.
