To celebrate 60 Years of the movie Goldfinger (1964) and its famous golf scene, Golf Pride has partnered with the James Bond franchise, to create a limited edition 007-themed golf grip kit that captures the suave, classy and cool nature of the world’s most famous secret agent.
Penfold have announced a 007 collection, which includes balls, tees, towels and ball markers. The collection will be available in November 2021. A special-edition 007 Penfold Hearts golf ball features the 007 logo in place of the traditional ball identification number.
Sean Connery (1930-2020) was the first actor to portray James Bond in the EON produced 007 films, and the Scot has been living the Bond Lifestyle ever since, from taking residence in the Bahamas and playing golf wearing his Slazenger sweater to driving a fast BMW. Connery also lend his image to promote Louis Vuitton, several whisky brands, and Citroën cars.
On 28th June 2013, Stoke Park welcomed 17 teams of golfers to compete in the first ever Official James Bond Golf Day in association with EON Productions.
On Friday 28th June 2013, Stoke Park will play host to the official James Bond Golf Day. As the setting for arguably the most iconic golf battle in cinematic history between Sean Connery’s James Bond, and Gert Fröbe’s Goldfinger, and not forgetting Oddjob’s flying hat, Stoke Park has partnered with EON Productions to host the official James Bond Golf Day, with profits from the day donated to the charity Spinal Research.
Famed for the playing card suits stamped on the golf balls, a Penfold ball became the most famous golfing ball in cinematic history when used in the 1964 Bond film Goldfinger. James Bond (Sean Connery) played a Penfold Heart golf ball when defeating Auric Goldfinger in a golf match against the Bond villain.
The James Bond films Goldfinger (1964) and Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), were filmed in and around the Clubhouse and on the championship golf course, Stoke Park at Stoke Poges.
The famous golf match between Auric Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) and James Bond (Sean Connery) were filmed on this course and in front of the main club building.
