Orlebar Brown launches 3rd instalment of 007 Collection
Orlebar Brown has today revealed their new pieces in the 2020 James Bond 007 Heritage Collection.
The new collection includes several Dr No inspired pieces

The launch was supposed to be in March 2020, but delayed due to the postponement of No Time To Die and Covid-19.
For this official collaboration with 007, Orlebar Brown recreates a wide variety of iconic pieces seen in early James Bond films, for a modern audience. Highlights include swimming trunks, polo shirts and a striped shirt worn by Sean Connery, a linen suit worn by George Lazenby and dark shirts and jacket worn by Roger Moore as James Bond.
Thunderball was once again a big inspiration for Orlebar Brown

The 2020 Orlebar Brown James Bond 007 Collection follows the 2019 007 Collection (which featured a large amount of recreated pieces) and the first instalment in 2018, which featured 4 poster print swim shorts.
The pieces of the 007 Collection are not exact replicas of the original Bond pieces, but rather a new interpretation by Orlebar Brown, with a more modern fit and details like smaller collars or longer shorts.
As Orlebar Brown specialises in beachwear and swim shorts for exotic swimming pools or beaches, the brand is a perfect match with many of the Bond garments from classic beach and pool scenes in the films.
The collection is now available on the Orlebar Brown website.

Orlebar Brown Dr. No Trousers
James Bond wears a pair of blue trousers and blue polo shirt on Crab Key island in the first Bond film Dr. No (1962). Orlebar Brown has created a pair of light blue trousers inspired by this outfit.
The tailored fit, flat fronted trousers will match the blue Dr No inspired toweling polo shirt that was part of the previous Orlebar Brown 007 Collection.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £245 / €295 / $375

Orlebar Brown Dr. No Knitted Polo
There's one final not so screen accurate addition to the collection: the Orlebar Brown Dr. No Knitted Polo is a very nice knitted polo in a colour that resembles the colour in a publicity photo for Dr. No.
But the photo is heavily color corrected, and the original color of Bond's outfit in this scene in the film is of course the blue (like the blue trousers mentioned earlier).
The Orlebar Brown shirt is a very nice shirt nonetheless, one of the nicest of the whole collection. The knitted polo shirt with waffle stitch in ivory cotton (50%) and silk (50%) is super smooth, lightweight and breathable.

Orlebar Brown Thunderball Stripe Shirt
In Thunderball (1967), James Bond (Sean Connery) wears these blue striped shirt, probably one of the most iconic shirts from the film.
James Bond wears the stripe shirt when he flies for the first time in the helicopter with Felix Leiter in search for the Vulcan. In the next scene when he meets Emilio Largo at his Palmyra villa he wears the same shirt.
Orlebar Brown stayed pretty close to the original design, making this one of the most interesting pieces of the new collection.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £195 / €235 / $295
Orlebar Brown Thunderball Gingham Shirt
Another recreation of a shirt worn in Thunderball is quite different from the original.
In Thunderball (1967), James Bond (Sean Connery) wears a blue gingham shirt when he and Felix Leiter fly in a Bell 47J Ranger helicopter, looking for the lost Vulcan airplane.
Orlebar Brown's inspired blue gingham shirt adds a white toweling fabric collar, which makes for a unique and nice looking shirt, but quite different from the one worn by Sean Connery.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £195 / €235 / $295
More details about this gingham shirt
Orlebar Brown Thunderball Blue Shirt
Thunderball was once again a big inspiration for Orlebar Brown in this collection, just like in last year's collection. James Bond (Sean Connery) wears a blue short sleeve shirt and blue trousers and a straw hat when meeting Q in the Bahamas.
Orlebar Brown's blue linen shirt is quite similar to the original with a camp collar, short sleeves and white (imitation mother of pearl) buttons. It's basically the same model as the Striped Blue Shirt mentioned before, but with a dark blue linen fabric.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £195 / €235 / $295.
Orlebar Brown Thunderball Bassett Swim Trunks
In Thunderball, James Bond wears white Jantzen shorts while he is diving in The Bahamas, inspecting the Disco Volante. After the diving, when he is picked up by Fiona Volpe in the blue Ford Mustang Convertible and taken for a ride to his hotel, he still wears the shorts, but with a navy Fred Perry polo shirt and light blue espadrilles.
The Orlebar Brown 007 Heritage Collection Thunderball Bassett Swim Trunks are inspired by Bond's white swim trunks in the film. The trunks are made of Italian stretch-knit fabric with pique texture (90% nylon, 10% elastane) and have gold coloured ends on the white drawstrings.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £95 / €115 / $145
Orlebar Brown You Only Live Twice Poplin Shirt
In You Only Live Twice (1967), James Bond (Sean Connery) wears a pink shirt when he arrives at Tiger Tanaka's ninja training school in a Aérospatiale SE 313 Alouette II helicopter.
Orlebar Brown's pink shirt has some visible differences, for example the shirt in the film has turnback cuffs, while the Orlebar Brown shirt has a buttoned cuff, and the collar is not as wide as the one on Bond's shirt.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £195 / €235 / $295
Orlebar Brown The Man With The Golden Gun Capri Collar Shirt
James Bond wears a cream coloured shirt in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), when he enters Hai Fat’s estate posing as Scaramanga.
Orlebar Brown's interpretation has a similar feel but is different in the details: Bond's shirt has a much bigger 1970s style collar and buttons on the end of the shirt sleeves. The Orlebar Brown shirt doesn't have the buttons and has a Capri (or 'Camp') collar.
The Orlebar shirt DOES have buttoned side-adjuster tabs like the movie shirt.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £195 / €235 / $295
Orlebar Brown Moonraker Half-Zip Merino Knit
James Bond (Roger Moore) wore a unique black half-zip shirt in Moonraker (1979).
Orlebar Brown made a reimagined iteration of the shirt. An Italian-made Merino wool shirt with half-zip placket and chevron detail, but without the button cuffs or chest pocket.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £295 / €345 / $445
Orlebar Brown For Your Eyes Only T-Shirt
In For Your Eyes Only (1981), Roger Moore as James Bond wears a blue v-neck t-shirt under the yellow dive suit in the Neptune scenes, but the shirt is first properly seen when Bond and Melina are tied together by Kristatos' men and dragged behind the yacht.
Orlebar Brown recreated this shirt as a silk v-neck shirt, now available at Orlebar Brown for £245 / €295 / $375.
More details about the v-neck shirt in the film
Orlebar Brown For Your Eyes Only Day Shorts
Orlebar Brown also created a pair of white day shirts to go with the blue v-neck shirt. In For Your Eyes Only however Bond wears long pants in the Kristatos yacht scene, but the publicity photo below suggests Roger Moore wore shorts under the yellow diving suit in the Neptune scenes.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £195 / €235 / $295
More details about these day shorts
Orlebar Brown Octopussy Harrington Jacket
James Bond (Roger Moore) wore a black Harrington style jacket in Octopussy (1983).
Orlebar Brown made a reimagined iteration of the jacket in midnight blue.
Now available at Orlebar Brown for £345 / €415 / $525
Orlebar Brown On her Majesty’s Secret Service Linen Jacket and Trousers
James Bond wears a cream coloured jacket and trousers with pink shirt in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), in the first scene after the opening credits when he enters Hotel Palácio Estoril, Portugal.
Orlebar Brown has created a linen jacket and trousers inspired by this outfit.
Jacket now available at Orlebar Brown for £345 / €415 / $525.
Trousers now available at Orlebar Brown for £245 / €295 / $375
More details about the trousers
There are also two new James Bond photographic print shorts available, from Dr. No and Live And Let Die.
