Sam Smith wins Golden Globe for SPECTRE's theme song Writing's On The Wall
Singer/songwriter Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes won a Golden Globe Award for "Best Original Song" with their SPECTRE theme song Writing's On The Wall.

The prize was presented to Sam Smith by Katy Perry during the Golden Globe Awards ceremony on January 10th 2016 in Beverly Hills.
Watch Sam Smith win the Golden Globe Award:
After receiving the award, Smith said on stage "I genuinely didn't think we were going to get this. Thank you so much, guys! This has been the most interesting night of my life, this is amazing, I hope you're having a good time because we are." The singer then started to thank producer Barbara Broccoli, director Sam Mendes and his co-writer Jimmy Napes.
This is another success for the song that has also been much criticised by fans. It became the first James Bond theme song to ever reach number 1 at the UK charts.
It's the second James Bond theme song to win a Golden Globe: in 2013, Adele and Paul Epworth won the Golden Globe for the SkyFall theme song. That song continued to win at the Academy Awards (Oscars) that same year. We'll have to wait fo the Academy Award Nominations Announcement on Thursday 14 January to know if Writing's On The Wall has a chance to do the same.
In December 2015, Radiohead, another contender to sing perform the song, revealed their proposal for the SPECTRE theme song, simply called SPECTRE, listen to it on Soundcloud.com.
